Choice of fenders - need help (Fuji Cross Comp)
 

Hello - I have spend way too long trying to figure out which fenders will work on my Fuji Cross Comp. It has eyelets front and rear, but not the cross beam behind the bottom bracket. I tried the SKS fenders and they did not seem to work for the lack of that cross beam. Will the Planet Pike Hardcore work any better? Or if not, what solution to attach rear fender near bottom bracket?

Also, what width will I want, 35 (road) or 45 (hybrid)? I will run 700x32s so I am thinking the 35 should be OK.

How about taking your bike to your local bike shop and try different fenders out? That way you can try them at the store and not waste time by bringing them home and not fitting. Plus, meet and greet with you local bike shop.

I bought fenders for my Tricross Comp...I think they were SKS. I had to modify the mounting points on the fenders a bit to get them to work, but they came fine. I forget what i did exactly, but broke off a tab, drilled a hole or two...you might have to do the same.

Put a heavy cable tie around the stays where the bridge should be. Use a smaller cable tie to fasten the fender to that.

Other option is to just use light cable ties and fasten the fender on either side to the stays. You can fix almost any bicycle problem with enough zip ties.
