Hyperkewl cooling vest

Just a product FYI I tried today. We had an offshore flow which gave us a mini heat wave for the day. It wasn't extremely hot but it did reach 85 degree. Just last week I bought a Hyperkewl vest from Techniche International. I ordered it from Amazon for about $55. I got my chance to try it out today and I'm somewhat impress by it. The temp without the vest on felt like 85 degree but with it on and riding above 10 mph, it felt more like the 70 degree. I was able to ride wearing that with my regular windproof jacket to prevent my arms from sunburn and yet I did not sweat much. I also like the style

There were some cons with it, some water does drip to the bottom over time and the back of my pant will get a little wet. However I found that by wrapping the bottom half between two towel and patting it will soak some of that water better than sqeezing it out before putting it on. I also heard thhat this vest will not work in high humid area but since this area is fairly mild in humid, I don't think that will be any issue. Here is what it looks like:

Your post piqued my interest. It gets bloody hot here in north Texas and I could see something like that coming in quite handy for just about any outdoor physical activity.

I found one by a different manufacturer on Amazon and placed an order. 25 bucks and free shipping...We'll give it a try.

I saw those too and other similair one. Almost placed an order for one myself. Then I notice the Hyperkewl had a tail end piece with pocket. My commuter is a road bike and for me the extra length on the back seem more fitting for me. Too bad because I could have save me $25. :)

Oh yes, I also notice that a full soaking make the vest much more heavier. A quick soaking and squeeze makes it much lighter.
