Need a longer rack

Iver been using a Mt. Blackburn rack on my bike with my panniers. For the most part they work fine, with the exception that they are a little too short. With me pannier mounted as far back as they can I find myself catching my heel every so often. It's not a huge deal, but anoying. Does any one know of a longer rack that won't breaK the bank?

I have this one and it has a slight rearward shift to help with heel clearance. The rack is very strong and stable, and it's affordable. $50.

Ortlieb by virtue of the slot mounted .. hooks can be pushed forward,
so the bag can be pushed back..

you can move the hooks on the bag you own to do that too ..

Tubus Logo rack further offers the possibility of rear-ward mounting..

Do your panniers have a heel cutout profile or a simple rectangular shape

Jandd Expedition Three inches longer than typical racks. It cured the heel-strike problem I had on my first bike.

I've got an Novara Commuter pannier. It's fairly square, all though the side pouches dont go down to the bottom.

I've got the hooks set so the bag is as far back on the rack as it can be. I tried tipping the rack back a little more but since the corner of the bag basically sit right over the mounting bolt of the rack it doesn't really move it back at all. Basically my options are either a longer rack or a rack that sits farther back. I guess a rack that sits higher might also help but I don't really want to raise the bag up higher if I don't have to.

It would be nice if rack companies would include dimensionns so one would know how far back the rack extends from the center line of the wheel.

I have an Axiom Journey. It isn't as long as some, but it was long enough to solve my heel strike issue. And fairly inexpensive.

Would you guys mind doing me a small favor and let me know how far back the your racks extend from a point directly over the chain stay bolt?
