Wife just paid $3.19 a gallon here.
I've commuted by bike for 10+ years off and on myself.
Welcome to the two wheel life; maybe you'll find that you appreciate it enough to never leave once you see the freedom associated with it

Vain, But Lacking Talent
About 3.20 here in North Texas, too. My wife told me just the other day and I said, "Really?!" Hadn't seen a gas pump in over a month until a couple of days ago.

I too, am in Long Beach and nearby the price is $3.59 (up $0.16 in four days). I commute when I can but since I swim at night and it is cold, I am not playing on the bike. When it warms up, I will be out on the bike again commuting more and training. The motor scooter will be back out on the road as well.

$3.29 here, in middle Tennessee, today. Thursday morning, I bought at $3.05. And Wednesday afternoon, in Aruba, I paid $1.15 per liter.
I made my first dry run on my bike commute route today. At $3.29, commuting by bike will still look a little loopy. At $5, it will look genius! I will have to drive three days this week -- transporting clients during the day. Hopefully, I'll have two days of looking loopy.

I live in the Bay Area. Gas is currently $3.75 and climbing. What scares me is the predictions that gas may be all the way up to $5 per gallon by summer time.

$3.35 here in Florida. Im gonna start biking to work. Its 10 miles one way. I had today off and took a ride out there I made it in 50 minutes. This is what I am riding. I have knobbies on it right now. I plan on getting trekking bars and on/off road tires since my first mile of this commute is sand/clay road.

If the roads might be wet, consider a rear fender too... these are good, cheap, durable one-bolt ones: https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Rear-Clip.../dp/B001C4S8VQ

I had people telling me I was smart for commuting by bike when gas was $1.80.
Now, after vacillating between 2.94 and 3.16, I noticed this evening that stations around town (Ft Wayne, IN) were selling at $3.45.
I noticed it because my sister and her hub picked me up and took me with them around town ("you gettin' out of the house and away from all the yahoos too, bruh?"), and she had to stop and sprinkle some in the tank. A little nasty for riding today....

$3.61 ... however, I know have an electric car (Nissan Leaf) powered by my PV system so the prices have no effect on my transportation costs but I still very much prefer riding the bike (mostly it is the wife who uses the car). It does effect the price of other things though since almost everything is shipped into the islands, which makes it a little hard to gloat about the high price of gasoline.

$3.20 and climbing in NE Kansas. I am a lucky bike commuter; I live 1 mile from work and 1/2 a mile from the grocery store. However, I still pay attention to gas prices because I know it will translate into higher food prices.
