With my new Topeak MTX trunk bag (with the fold down mini-panniers) I'm on the bike more, picking up grocery, hardware, etc. stuff. I'll check it out.

I've got Commuting here on BF bookmarked, so it's the first thing that pops up when I visit. But I think I've probably entered at least half of the other sub-forums as well.

I spend more time road cycling that on my commuter bike but I do commute every day since my bike is my car... I love the commuting forum for it seems that people that participate in it have their feet on the ground =)

I don't even commute by bike and this is my favorite reading on BF.

Yeah but 1.4M posts on the road cycling forum were from only one guy; Pcad.

I like it here, because we tend to, well, actually USE our bikes for something USEFUL, like getting around sans-gasoline.

I pretty much live here and in the Clyde's forum. I used to lurk in the roadie forum, but not so much any more.

this sub-forum is definitely my home at BF.net as well. i like it it because, while it definitely has a focus on the specific activity of commuting by bicycle, it seems to be the forum most closely aligned with how i view cycling. to me biking isn't a sport, or a recreation, or a hobby, or an interest, rather it's an all encompassing way of life; it's how i move through and about my world every single day.

i also like this forum because it's not about a specific kind or style of bike. we have people in here commuting on all manner of two wheeled contraptions - race bikes, mountain bikes, touring bikes, vintage bikes, hybrid bikes, cyclocross bikes, single speed bikes, folding bikes, fixed gear bikes, recumbent bikes, cruising bikes, etc.

Very well stated! I agree completely. This forum shows that it isn't about having the "right" gear, clothes, etc. People give knowledgeable recommendations and suggestions here without looking down their noses at potential new commuters.
