I did commute in work clothes when the weather was cooler. My commute is 13.5 miles each way, and the warm and humid weather we have now means I arrive at work rather sweaty. I wouldn't want to subject my coworkers to my post-commute smell, so I take enough clothes to work on Monday to last the week. I then change and freshen up with wipes when I get to work.

I typically just wear my work pants in unless its too warm. I stuff the work shirt/gloves in my panniers along with lunch etc.. If it's too warm I wear shorts. I keep my boots/sweater in my locker usually.

I wear my work clothes, but with a wool t-shirt underneath (in the winter, wool long johns too). I work in a laboratory, some suits but mostly casual.

17 miles from work, bike every day. Yes I am damp with sweat when I get to work sometimes, especially in the summer. But it's WORK, not a dinner party.

Like many others my commute is too far and hilly to wear work clothes. In fact as I work on (and then down thankfully) and I'm sweating like a pig when I get to work. Thank God we have showers! Cycle shorts and Jersey everyday for me. Long sleeved in the winter but that about as far as it gets. The ride warms me up even when its very cold.

95% of the time no. I put on a pair of casual shorts (gramicci are the best :) ) and T shirt and off i go. But, If I need to do an errand at noon, I don't change....just put the leg band on the khakis.

Feels like I'm hijacking this thread: would you commute to an interview with your interview clothes
(and no car/public trans. is available and you have no where to change or panniers.)

anyway you can delete it if it doesn't belong here. I just didn't feel like starting a new thread since I think it would have a few replies.

If you have no other way of getting there, what does it hurt? I mean if you're going to interview a bit sweaty/rumpled or not interview at all, which do you think gives you a better shot at getting a job?

cant you roll there in the suit pants and a basic undershirt, then when you get a block away put on the shirt/tie/jacket? you can always arrive 20 minute early to let the heart settle and sweat stop.

the pants may be a bit disheveled but the shirt and jacket will be crisp and odor free.

This morning I saw a woman on a cruiser wearing low-rise jeans and a thong. I'm not sure it was the look she was going for but who knows. It's hardly been the first time.

Lately I've been commuting with tri shorts under my mountain baggies rather than full on bike shorts (or the liners they came with) or bibs. I like the thinner chamois as it seems to dry faster.

For me at 10 miles with warm weather it's a toss-up. I wind up wearing work clothes when it's around 35 degrees or lower although I keep an extra set of clothes at the office. Normally I just wash up and change shirts but as it gets warmer I'll change to shorts and shower in the morning.

I have...and if I had a short commute in a nice flat urban area, I'd probably still do so, but for my current commute (and the majority of my previous commutes) riding in something else and changing when I get to work is the simplest, most convenient option for me. YMMV

At a 6.5 mile (one way), flat, urban commute, I do generally (dress shirt, slacks, and tie). It's really nice just getting off the bike and starting work. If it's very hot I'll wear a light polo or button-up (something breathable) over my tank-top undershirt. This way I can just change shirts and there's no need to change in the restroom - just cool down, wipe down, swap outer shirts, and a shot of body spray to freshen up (I like Old Spice - a little less overpowering than Axe).

If I had to wear a suit I'd change. If I had to wear pants in the summer I'd change.

We have a pretty sane dress code here, so I just commute in work clothes.

Follow up to my earlier post: I forgot my pants yesterday and walked around in capri pants all day in an office that, while not clothing-retentive, is somewhat better dressed.

Could possibly leave certain things like shoes, suit jacket, a few ties, and stuff at your job?

I do all the time. Of course, I work in a warehouse environment. Full kit is against the dress code, but shorts and sleeveless shirts that are not cycling specific are okay.

Ok the humidity is rolling in and i may need to not ride in my work clothes. we will see, but i am thinking that if i sweat enough that it shows through my shirt then that wont be good for appearances or for the longevity of the shirt.

Even with temp. rising to the 95 degree, some of you can still commute in working clothes?

As my commute is 13 miles, it is also not an option to me.
