Would have been nice if the video showed the actual evidence that the guy purchased a bike he knew was stolen... The "reporter" claimed he had him doing so on video/audio but it was never shown. As such either one of them could be lying...
If the owner really was being falsely accused, then his actions were a little immature, but understandable...

I've talked to people who saw the whole episode on TV... guy goes in, says he just stole this bike and needs the money, shop owner eventually agrees to buy it for $25. This clip is what follows. And that "reporter" is Chris Hansen!!! You know, "Why don't you have a seat over there?". He sure looks older now.
