Mapped the new route
So yesterday night I took the time to map my new route to work. I've been trying to avoid traffic lights as much as possible, as well as cobbled roads. It was quite a hard job, especially the traffic lights were some trouble. I've narrowed it down to 4 traffic lights (which is amazing, as it's over 45km!) and no cobbled roads at all.
Here's the new route. Maybe any of you can find some improvements I should be making on this. I know it's not the shortest route, but taking in mind the amount of cobbles and the amount of traffic lights, it might just be faster and less stressing. I'm thinking it's trial and error from here on :) |
I'm curious, when you use Google Maps for routing, how are you identifying traffic lights, cobbled roads etc. Is it by your own local familiarity? Or are you just using the zoom/street level view...?

Mostly local familiarity, and for a small part street level view. At about 6km into the route (in Papendrecht) there are some streets I wasn't sure of traffic lights being around, so i checked street level view.
Will be riding this Tuesday, and ride the car into work tomorrow to drop off my clothing and such. |
