In my never ending pursuit to become a bike commuter. . . . .

So, last week in the continuing saga, I broke my shifter and couldn't complete my commute. Finally, I ordered a double cable stop (for 20 bucks!!!!!) and got a stem shifter from the bike collective for $10. Got some new cables and housing. Now I'm back in business. Everything is installed and seems to be working fine. Tomorrow I have to work so I will see if I can make it the whole, short way without something catastrophic happening. I have my doubts. I think my bike is the devil spawn and destined to leave me in the lurch. Unfortunately, I can't "buy a Bianchi Volpe" like my friend in Oklahoma told me to do.
Just a little rant to get the week started off right, or ended right whichever.

Sounds like you should be good to go! It seems like every month like clockwork I'm having to replace or fix something. But I ride about 150 miles a week so it is to be expected. If you don't ride many miles, you should be okay for longer periods than monthly repair shop visits. Keep us updated on the pursuit of being a bike commuter.

All the best and ride safe!

Good luck! Hopefully the bike will stay sorted out for a while.
