Awesome

I just got a new commuter today. It's a 1987 Le Tour. I know Panasonic bikes are supposed to be crap, but I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the smoothest riding bike I think I've ever gotten! It's just my size too. It's been a good day, so I'm probably about to get hit by a bus, or something!

Congrats! There's nothing like having a smooth running machine, it is so nice to just glide smoothly above the ground on ANY bike, let alone a used one that didn't cost an arm and a leg!

I have a supposedly low-end Panasonic ("Sport") that I think is from the early 80's -- and I love it! Happy riding.

There's something about old steel bikes that really make them different from all the hard Alu ones sold today. I just can't explain it but I guess this is the reason why Rivendell sells so many 80's type bikes.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!
Don't heed the snobs. As long as you're riding, you are still better off regardless the bike you're riding!
I have e friend who has an OCLV mountain bike, a custom steel road bike, yet his preferred commuter is his Wahoo that someone was putting in the trash.
KEEP UP THE GOOD RIDING.
