Don't You Just Hate It When . . . .

You put on a new rack only to find out you now suffer from heel strike when you mount the pannier.

Looks like going back to the old rack for now.

Is your rack long enough for you to mount the panniers farther back?

commo_soulja 09-05-11 12:38 AM

Nope, never had that problem.

The pannier is as far back as it can go. Eh, to be fair to the bike, bag, and new rack, the bike's chain stay isn't really long and it's got no mounting holes, so I had to P-clamp it. Such is life.

Buy a new bike!!!

Any excuse!! N+1 = GREAT thing!

Been there. What kind of panniers do you have? Mine aren't very robust, but some are. On my huge grocery pannier, I had to remove the mounting clip and move it farther forward.

Yup, did that too!

Solution: Put a Coke crate on top of the rack and zip tie it down. Now I use a bungy cord to keep my 30 litre See Bag secure inside the crate.

Ride safe,

Jeff

How about when you forget your front fender because you didn't pay attention to the weather report and now its sprinkling, not enough to be a big deal but enough for puddles for collect and splash water on yo face!

Use a trunk bag :)
