Has this happened to you?

On the way to work this morning, my pant leg was caught up in chainring and/or the crank arm (it happened so fast I’m not sure which) on my fixie. Obviously because it is a fixie I had to pedal right through. It ripped my pant leg from cuff to crotch. Good thing I wasn’t going commando today.

Yep! Once on my old school hack fixie - tore my trouser leg open to the crotch but I had some black tape in my bag, so was ablt to mummify myself up for decency's sake. Amazing how much force those fixies have when you get something snagged, isn't it?

yeah, i was amazed how quick it ripped through those pants.
oh, and i didn't mention that before i was undressed by my bike; i fell earlier trying to get my foot out of my pedal. first time for everything i guess. that must have been when my pant leg unrolled enough to get snagged. ugh...it's a monday

Ouuch. Good thing you didn't have jeans on, denim fabric's a lot tougher.
I always roll my leg up either higher than my knee or calf muscle, depending on how tight the pants are. Or you can get one of those leg bands. When you said you fell trying to get your foot out, were these clips or clipless?
I've never been undressed by bike, must've been embarassing hehe.

clipless and a little 'em-bare-ass-ing' but i don't take things to seriously so it was easy to laugh at.

YEP, this happened to me when I was wearing a pair of khakis.

I pulled my leg away and it only ripped about 4 inches, but enough that I can't wear the pants to work now.

Once I was spinning out on a downhill with tennis shoes in toeclips when a lace came untucked from my shoe & quickly wrapped around the crankarm. Almost pulled my shoe off but this wasn't fixed gear so I didn't crash & was able to coast on with my right foot lashed to the crank. Seemed funny later but gave me a scare.
