A great day today
 

What a great day I had today.

I came off the MUP, entering a busy street to make a left at the red light. I got in line in the left turn lane; I was behind the 4th or 5th car. An SUV pulls up behind me & I hear a slight honk. "Uh oh," I thought, "this could be trouble." Another slight honk, so I move to the right a bit & I look over my shoulder. I thought he wanted to get the to U-turn, or wanted me off the road, or whatever.

But no! He yelled "You're dropping papers out of your bag." I look down & my pannier is split open, mail & lots of other things are coming out.

I regroup, move out of the way & figure out what's missing,what to do, etc. I thank the guy & he says: "Sorry about the honk. You didn't hear me calling to you."

The guy saved my ass. My laptop computer, wallet, etc. had fallen out! But I look back & everything is still right there, on the MUP!! oh wow, oh wow, oh wow, I am SAVED!

I hope I get the chance to help someone like that.

As my son would say, "Whew. Cwose!"
Glad everything turned out okay :)

At least you didn't lose them on a train track under a train like I did with my seat bag on Sunday's ride.
