Looking forward to the ride home. I hope I can get a few miles in before the sun sets. Hope everyone has a safe commute.

The whole week's worth of commuting was excellent, because my wife and I started riding together to and from work. This was our first week!

When the missus changed jobs and began working downtown, I thought my commuting would be severely curtailed (I would have to drop her off downtown and then drive into work myself to avoid the exorbitant downtown parking fees). So we were happily surprised to learn that her new place of work has a bike room, underground bike parking for when the bike room is full, showers, and lockers! Now we leave the car home, I get to ride every day instead of once or twice per week, and my wife gets even more saddle time than me!

This just rawks!

And it was her idea. She's never been fond of traffic riding and so when she proposed the idea I was quite surprised. Once we make it to my workplace, she rides over the Hawthorne Bridge into downtown. I've never ridden in the downtown area and I have to admit the concept is a daunting one for me. We're riding her route Sunday so I can experience it first-hand.

Oh, and one more goody: We'll be saving $132.00 per year on our auto insurance.

My wife: I hope she keeps me.

Rob- Congratulations. That is awesome. I like the Hawthorne bridge, it is fun to ride over. My wife and I ride in that area every weekend.

Happy Monday Darren - You must have had a really great weekend!

It is still unusually hot (and now sticky) here in the UK but riding to work MUST beat being stuck in a hot car.

Cheers,

Ed

I was bringing home another load of sweet corn tonight, when the ears shifted going over a bump, swinging my pannier into my spokes. Now my pannier has a hole, but the wheel seems ok. So now my hybrid bike has another task: shucking corn!

Another warm day today. Had a magpie have a crack at me on the ride in this morning, he was no match for my skill with a water bottle. On the ride home I got to watch the full moon rise out of the South Pacific in the twilight. All in all a classic ride.

It sure feels good to be back commuting again after being off last week for vacation. Nice ride in. We had lots of rain last night so the air was fresh and cool this morning. This whole week looks to be ok for commuting. Scattered showers are predicted most the week but chances are low.

I got up early, got ready, it started pouring, about an inch an hour, got changed, drove the car. I'm weak and getting too old to deal with the water every day. It's time for some sun. With that said, have a great day everyone.

Had a pretty nice ride in this morning. It rained most of the morning (and night), but seemed to let up just so I could ride in. I got maybe 3 drops at most! I'm afraid it might be pouring tonite though but we'll wait and see!

I got the road bike yesterday. Haven't ridden it yet, but took a good look over it last night and if it's not raining tonite I will take it out and practise with the clipless pedals (my first!)

I don't think I'll be using it as a commuter, but we'll see

Hi Folks,

Good commute this morning. The recent hot weather system is subsiding, making the ride a lot more comfortable.

Cheers,

Ed

A nice ride in. Feeling good. Now I'm working with my bike sitting behind me in my office. I turn around periodically and smile at it. I think it smiles back.

I may be cracking up, but at least my legs are strong.

Nice commute for me today, made up for the horribly windy day yesterday. Nice temperature, little wind and I had decent energy levels. A good time was had by all.

nice warm dry day, took the long way to work, I didn't want to stop I think this would make a great century morning. Too bad I'm a responsible adult or I would just call in sick (of work that is).

Nice commute home last night. I had to stay late at work and the traffic was a lot lighter.

The commute in this morning was strange. There was an unusual large amount of traffic on the route I take in the mornings. Usually it is pretty light traffic. Also there was a lot of police driving around and some driving extemely slow so I wonder was going on? Other than that it was a nice commute.

Had a good ride in this morning. Things are a little wet from last night's rain, but overall not too bad. I managed to miss all of the rain last night as well, since it started well after I got home from work. I've been lucky!

Awesome ride home last night. Rode 5 miles past my house into the wind just so I could have the tailwind to end the day. I guess most people would think that stupid, but I know you guys will understand.

Man, are we having great bike commuting weather here! I've really been logging up the miles by taking the long way in, cruising around on my lunch break and taking the long way home... I wish this would last all year... hey, it's a nice fantasy.

Good ride home last night. I had two close calls with cars but I could see what was going to happen and counter-reacted. Both people did not see me, they were looking at the other traffic coming.

The ride in this morning was muggy. Seems like the tempature will be rising the next few days and it is going to be a hot one.

A very nice ride in, although with the 100% humidity, I could keep my glasses from fogging up no matter what I did! She's going to be another hot one today, after a scorcher last night! It was over 30 C at around 5 when I was heading home last night.. sheesh!

This morning's ride in was on the slow side, I was a little fatigued from last evening's after work 60km practice ride for the MS Bike Tour this Saturday and Sunday. Had to have go for a few beers after the ride, rode home at 11:30!!
