Alternative to bus line?

The SMART bus has had to cut several routes starting tomorrow. Several hundred people who take the SMART bus to work will have to find alternative forms of transportation for getting to work and home. I am wondering how many will start riding their bikes. Do you think the morning commute of 22 degrees will be a significant factor? I plan to ride my bike to work

Historically, a lot of them will just go on unemployment. We have a halfway decent food stamps program in this country.

The SMART bus of which I'm aware goes between Salem, OR and Wilsonville, OR. I think that's too far for most people to ride every day, especially since that won't be the total commute for most of them.

Where is your SMART bus?
