It was a chilly 37f as I rode through town and saw the thermometer at 5:41 this am. I could have been dressed a little warmer for the ride. It was a nice uneventful ride. The beginnings of a good week!!

Back in the saddle after a couple of days off...cool riding in, fingers felt it the most. I'm switcing to enclosed shoes from the Keens I wore before.

Had a classic Monday morning today. Woke up to see a mass of showers approaching on the radar, so I hit the snooze button on my alarm and slept 30 minutes late. By the time I got up, however, the showers were dissipating, so I decided to ride to work after all. Ending up leaving 45 minutes late and encountered much more traffic than usual as a result. The ride in was nice, with temps just cool enough to keep me from sweating much but not cold enough to require a jacket or vest. Got to work and hit the showers, remembering at the last minute the email we got on Friday telling us that our building would not have hot water or heat for the next two weeks. It seems they are doing "annual maintenance" on the furnace, so we are pretty much at the mercy of the weather until early October. I took a "camp shower" -- quickly wetting down, soaping up and then rinsing. Ouch. Nothing like a cold shower to wake you up.

any DC riders riding in tomorrow? with high wind thunderstorms I think I'm going to drive in...

I'm a wuss, so it's METRO instead of the bike for me tomorrow. I don't mind rain, but the strong thurderstorms they're predicting for tomorrow are something else.

Another nice ride to work in great Fall weather -- 50s in the morning and 70s on the ride home.

A rider about 50 feet in front of me came this close to being doored by an absent-minded motorist. They had a pleasant interaction ("Watch where you're going!" "Jackass!") and then we all carried on to work.

My legs were way too tired from hockey yesterday, so I drove in. I need to stop doing that, as I encounter lots more bad drivers on my car route.

I'll probably have to drive again tomorrow as it's supposed to rain all day and I have no fenders or rain gear. :(

Weather here has been amazing. Not too hot, not too cold, birds singing, sun shining ect.
My only beef is that now my commute is too short.

-2C when I woke up, but it was probably +2 when I left the house. Cool but by no means uncomfortable with just my long sleeve baselayer on my upper body. The afternoon temperature is supposed to be +17.

I managed to stay off my bikes both days this weekend which was probably for the best. My rear tire started leaking, the valve had separated from the tube.

About 6C when I left the house this morning. No frost yet in Edmonton, unlike Regina it seems. Wasn't feeling it this morning. The commute was calm and uneventful, but I didn't have much desire to power through the commute like I usually do. Monday blahs, I guess.

very cool coming in this morning. rode eas an short because i plan on riding the whole thorty miles home for the second time this afternoon. its a lot for me.

Dark but about 54 degrees when I left. The stars were pretty. There was more traffic than usual. I even met a car on the gravel portion, so I had to eat dust for a hundred yards or so. Still better than dealing with the big truck traffic on the main road.

so how do you prepare for rain? My jeans were soaked in the front, and my shoe was wet all day...

I just dont feel good, I had a head wind the entire way to work, sometimes it was blowing so hard it was blowing water up out of the puddles and in my face, it was not really raining just drizzling. My head is all stopped up, whaaaaa! Sorry about that...I feel better now. Thanks.

Back to warm mornings at 70f (21C). The trees were dripping and the roads were wet, but I got in before anything big. This afternoon is shaping upto be wild. I'll be hanging out waiting to catch a break in the thunderstorms.

The commute this morning was warmer than yesterday, though I still used a jacket and mittens, 48f is by no means warm. It was a very uneventful commute, just a nice ride to work. Though it does seem that more construction is beginning through a stretch of my ride in the city. I usually ride a different route home than to work, so the construction traffic will not effect me.

Strong and warm crosswinds this morning. One of my two planetbike tailights seems to have run its course.

According to the weather app on my phone, it was 6C (42F, wind chill 2C, 35F) with 28kph wind (gusting to 46kph) and light cold rain, in other words, after 45 minutes on the bike, the warm shower at work was very welcome (especially compared with the cold bath I got when I rode through a 5cm (2") deep puddle that was 10m (30ft) across that I didn't see until it was too late and my shoes were full to the brim and my legs to my thighs were soaked).

Saw no joggers or other cyclists (what does that say about me?).

It says that *they* are not as full of "awesome" as you are.

Pretty good and motivating ride into work. A cool-ish, and slightly overcast morning, that is mostly down-hill. The ride home was, like always, more interesting. It was a good day for traffic threading, lane splitting, and chasing down people on motor scooters.

BTW, the typical Japanese cyclists are some ballsy bastards when it comes to diving into and through fast and heavy traffic from dark sidewalks. Cars just come to a screeching stop for them, and when the bike has crossed in front of them, just drive on like nothing happened. The typical Japanese cyclist would be dead within a day in the US.

Uninteresting ride in. I packed my full rain kit. The ride home looks like heavy rain with a driving headwind. I'll probably just ride the MUP and avoid traffic.

Thought I could beat the rain. Nope. :cry: Pretty strong wind gusts too. Supposed to storm this afternoon, but as my car is in the shop, I have no other options. :( I did invest in a hi-viz vest and blinky lights, so at least the cars have a better chance of seeing me.

Luckily, I put a change of clothes inside of a plastic bag inside my backpack, so I have something nice and dry to change into.
