About 40 degrees, cloudy, slight headwind, but a very nice ride anyway.

Guitarfool5931 04-03-12 12:57 PM

About 55 degrees, not a lot of wind, and sunny. Beautiful. Here's hoping the rain doesn't catch me on the way back though. :-/

Just a wonderful day. Came home early to take son to dentist around noon proably 75F. nice.

gecho 04-03-12 02:12 PM

+15C for the ride home with a good mostly tailwind, would have been a nice day for shorts. I had a ulock in my trunk bag because I couldn't remember if I was paid up till the end of March or April for the bike cage. Along with a laptop I was bringing home in a pannier I had a bit of extra weight today.

I told myself I was going to have a nice slow relaxing ride home. But as I exited the campus onto the main road I looked down at my speedometer it read 38km/h. So I ditched plan A and gave 'er the beans all the way home. I got up 48km/h on my favourite downslope section. There were a lot of riders out this afternoon.

Tailwind...what...is that?

Fizzaly 04-03-12 03:41 PM

37f This morning with a slight headwind, 61f on the way home with 20mph cross winds at one point I was fully leaning into the wind felt odd.

hotwheels 04-03-12 06:31 PM

Morning was quiet and comfortable at 42f/5.5c. I noticed some gangster graffiti on my neighbor's nice white fence so, that sucked. Ride home had a decent headwind today and about 70f/21.1c. Traffic wasn't so bad. Lots of bees going to/fro work and no shortage of pollen. It was a nice Spring day to pedal.

RGNY 04-03-12 08:24 PM

evening ride to fencing practice and back. 50f when i left, 42f on the way home. discovered the joy of knee warmers.

only had one tool encounter. guy sped past my left in some "Fast and Furious" wannabe Honda, about 8" away, so he could cut in front of me to get into the right turn only lane next to me.

today's weapon of choice: Leader 722ts fixed. was feeling uncomplicated.

I am absolutely loving my new trike. I'm no longer pained in the taint and wrists when I arrive, I can look up and around better than I can on my diamond-frame, and I'm getting up to my old speeds already.

The nice weather helps, too.

fletchh 04-04-12 04:31 AM

It was 47F (8C) here and felt warmer, so I couldn't tell if I was expecting a storm on not. This time of year is always difficult to dress for, so I was overdressed this morning. Shorts and sleeveless on the way home.

Constant headwind the whole way in. some guy in a van doesnt understand the idea of a red flashing light vs a yellow one. Weather guy said it was raining out, so I look outside and the concrete was dry, rode in no rain and it still isnt raining. I am no longer gonna watch the weather guy. oh yea, great ride.

Weather forecasters have it in for us.:)

Third day in a row riding my bike to work...first time this season that I have left without a jacket on. It was 64 degrees this morning, and I brought my light shell jacket, but left it in the pannier and wore a long sleeve jersey. I live in south Florida and only feel warm when it's over 80 degrees, so the first mile or so was a little cool, but once I got going it was good to be without the jacket. Actually have had several GOOD commutes this week, one close call yesterday morning with an elderly motorist in a huge Buick/Merc? Other than that, it's been really good! I LOVE to commute to work on my BIKE, and the NEW one will be here today with FedEx....

Lots and lost of stupid people. Like someone opened a door to some institution and let all the patients out... The amount of stupidity is incredible out there...

TheTreauth 04-04-12 08:04 AM

My Origin8 drop bar ends came in yesterday and I put them on this morning before I left home. Good timing for those, 15-20 mph headwind coming in to work today. Headwinds still suck but these did help a bit. Also nice using drops for the first time in my life. When I originally bought my Giant Rapid I went with the flat bar road bike because I was around 70 lbs heavier than I am now and my knees would hit my big fat gut when I was in the drops. lolololol

So it was a sunny but very windy ride in to work this morning, still gorgeous.

enigmaT120 04-04-12 09:34 AM

Dark, 37 degrees, and raining. I was tired from running 8 miles last night with some friends so I did not make good time this morning. I don't think I've run at all for at least a month. I should ride about 18 tonight on the way home, though I hope the rain stops.

hotwheels 04-04-12 10:11 AM

It was about 45f/7.2c this morning and I saw 5 other commuters.

Rimmer 04-04-12 01:52 PM

Today was 80 degrees with not much wind. I was sweating. Forecast predicted half an inch of rain with 100% probability of precipitation and severe thunderstorms by some particular time. Well, it didn't rain not yet anyway. Later tonight it will. It certainly looks awful outside and it's thundering pretty badly. I took the quickest route home, so I made it home dry. I ate before leaving. I just cannot eat before cardio. I could never do that. It upsets my stomach way too much. I had some little ass cut me just before a stop sign. When he stopped, I passed him and gave him the finger. I needed to turn right--he didn't. I was also in a hurry. Some ass of a bus driver had the wrong sign set. When I saw the next bus (same route) but opposite direction, it wasn't going where I needed to go, and I immediately knew where the other bus went, so I had to hurry to catch the boat before it left. If I got caught in that thunderstorm, because of that ass bus driver, I would've been pissed.

Rimmer 04-04-12 02:01 PM

It's pouring cats and dogs right now.

Fizzaly 04-04-12 04:01 PM

50f On the way in with slight head wind, 54f with a strong head/cross wind on the way home. Supposed to get chilly the next few days with lows going into the 20's, stupid Boise can't make it's mind up.

making 04-04-12 04:17 PM

Windy and nice ride home.

oisin 04-04-12 04:21 PM

about to head out for a 4 mile (each way) jaunt from work in some nice dress clothes to go look at an apartment. not the best riding gear but a nice day out! better roll up the pants right high.

Mark Stone 04-04-12 04:52 PM

Up to this point I've been riding from home to the bus stop, riding the bus to work, and reversing at night. However, I have grown to hate the buses here in my dusty town and don't want to do that any more! But I don't think I'm ready for the bike commute distance (34 or 35 miles round trip) yet, so I'm going to make a change: Drive my car, with the bicycle on a carrier, part of the way, and then ride the rest of the way to work. It will still save $$ re: gasoline costs. Public transportation in my little city really blows. :notamused: After doing that for a while then decrease drive distance/increase bike distance and see where it goes from there. I used to do a 35 mile round trip when I was younger, so I think it's still within my range after I lose weight and get in better shape.

Realpsi 04-04-12 04:57 PM

Going on two weeks commuting 3-4 days per week, still learning. Ran over a pallet this morning! No flats or wipeout! I was on a road bike. Lesson learned don't outride your light

wphamilton 04-04-12 06:01 PM

Great commutes, cool for the easy morning ride and 80+ evening which is perfect for me to loosen up and take it a little faster.
