Flashed by parked car...
 

Tonight as I was riding home from an errand, a salmon parked car (facing me, I was in the correct lane), starts flashing it's lights at me. Figuring that the kid (and it was a teen) was playing with me, I decided to play.

I lit them up with the two PB 5 LED Beamers, the NR MiNewt X2's (one helmet, on handlebar), and the NR MiNewt 600 Cordless, all in flash mode. As I got closer, I could clearly see the hand of the kid covering his eyes as I approached.

I know... Overkill, but it was a quiet residential street, and I was the only thing moving on it (except for a ped w/her dog).

Lately while riding on the roads at night, I use the MN600 on walk, the helment MNX2 on low, the handlebar MNX2 on strobe, and the PB's as last resort backups. Trails, and typically I'll turn off the strobes. Which was exactly what I was doing when this game started, as I had just returned to the road from a trail.

Had the kid started moving the car, I would have immediately stopped the strobes, and gotten onto the sidewalk (which is legal in Oregon).

Haha at least he ain't one of those kids who tries to ram you down, no harm playing I guess lol...

Was on an urban group ride a couple years ago, and near the end of it, it was getting dark, so several of us flipped on lights. One guy had an absolute FLAMETHROWER, and aimed it back at the group to watch them all try a small stunt that would otherwise not gave been a challenge. Two guys tried it, one nearly wiped out, but the growing chorus of complaints did little to make Light Boy to relocate.

Making drivers cower, however, can be 'fun'; thirty years ago, I had a real 'redneck rig', a pickup with a light bar across the top. One night, driving across town, lights normal, nothing on 'bright', another driver started flashing his brights at me. I flashed back, just to show that my brights weren't on, but he continued flashing. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I flipped the brights back on, AND hit the toggles for the light bar. All of the sudden, it was NOONTIME out, and the guy QUICKLY shut down his activity, and drove on.

DX if your truck was lifted it could have seemed like your brights are on, most people that lift their trucks do not re-aim their headlights. I know you flashed your brights but if things were aimed too high your brights might have actually been aimed above his eyes so it seems like your brights were your low beams and vice versa.

the story is alright I guess, but when I get flashed on my bike I'm not talking about lights!
