First Ride of the Year

Have done a few short rides within the neighborhood, but last night I did a 14 mile round trip to see a friend.

Left late afternoon. Overcast, 60 degrees with light precipitation. Rode my LHT with one rear pannier for a change of clothes. Cold wind from the north probably around 10 miles an hour or so.

Morderate traffic, had one car truck that drove pretty close to me while I was in a bike lane.

The ride home was very nice. little if any traffic. Was able to just enjoy the ride, temp dropped down to about 55. Had cover for my face but since I was going with the wind didn't need it. Very smooth and comfortable ride. The less automobile traffic, the more I like it, and that's why I like night riding.

Wore leggings under lycra shirt, short sleeve jersey and Gore jacket, helmet and full fingered gloves.
