Park Tools Stool Manufacturer

Does anyone know who manufacturers the Park Tools 32" Stools? I emailed them and they said that they do not manufacture them but it is their policy not to disclose the source. I'd like to order a few with a custom logo of my own. I've seen several places online where you can order a custom logoed stool but I am wary of the quality. I'm hoping someone here has one of the Park Tools Stools and can find a tag or something else on it that might lead me in the right direction.

Here's a link to the stool I'm looking to replicate, only with my custom logo:

Got any Bar/restaurant supply and furniture stores in Dallas?

I think I'll just order one of the Park Tools Stools from amazon, looks for manufacturer clues and then return it.

Thanks

What a dumb policy. What could be gained from not disclosing a source? Seems like you'd want to help out a company that is making things for you to sell.

It's difficult to determine the specific manufacturer of the Park stool because it's a generic design, but I would bet money it's manufactured by Torin Big Red.

What's interesting, is that "logo'd" seats run about 90 - 130 dollars. A plain seat runs about 35.
It's the exact same stool frame.

That's exactly why I thought. I just want to be sure I don't spend a bunch of money on some crappy stool.

Here's my conversation with them:

Hello *William
It is the policy not to disclose the source of our product. The product manager has this but will not release it. *Sorry about that. *

Thanks Calvin, can you tell me who youo get them from?* I've done some research and there are a lot of companies that brand and sell*stolls similar to these.* I'd love to get the same ones that you use as I am ipressed by the quality.* I'm sure they would appreciate the referal as well.* If you can't tell me just let me know and I'll try to figure it out.

Hello William,

We do not make these here, they are branded for us. *You can find sources on the internet for stool manufacturers offering logo branding. *

Comments: I have a strange request. I really like your 32 inch 360 swivel logoed stools. So much so that I'd like a few for my home workshop. What I'm wondering is if you manufacture them yourself or if you have someone make them for you and just brand them with your logo. I'd like to order some with my logo, but I want the same high quality stools like yours. If you do have someone else make them would you please let me know who makes them? Thanks, Will

You don't expect the people who sold you your bike frame to tell you what factory made it. You don't expect Levi-Strauss to tell you who made your blue jeans. You don't expect the people who sold you your computer to tell you made it. Why should they? It's standard practice in nearly every industry not to reveal product sourcing information. It's an open secret in some cases, but they're still not going to tell you.

I understand what you're saying, I don't expoect them to tell me who makes thier tools. The stool is more of a promotional item that I would think they'd tell me about. I'd bet if they have T-Shirts they'd probably say it was a Hanes Beefy T

Buy a stool, fall off and sue them, I bet they'll tell
you who made it!

chuenerfong 04-19-12 09:49 PM

LoL it will pay too much for looking for a stool manufacturer (Ouch!)

CigTech 04-20-12 12:56 AM

$93.95 for a stool --- Tell you what I'll buy the $29.99 stool do the art work on it and then sale it to you for 93.95 ok?
