Bike rack suggestions for work
 

The company I work for doesn't want bikes stored inside but said they'll purchase and install a bike rack outside. Anyone know of a good rack I could suggest to them? It needs to hold 3-5 bikes and bolt into concrete or pavement.

Dero is one of the main companies that makes bike racks (they also support bike advocacy initiatives):

They have the typical U-shaped and "Staple" racks, the sine-wave style, pretty much anything.

(no connection, I've just used their products and like them)

I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there, too, but beware the real junk that just bolts together - it can be easier for a thief to take the rack apart to steal your bike than break the lock!

I'll be looking for this same thing soon. Only my work is kind of enough to be putting in bike racks in our underground parking garage in a fenced in area.

Don't know how much space you have, or how generous the company is feeling, but there are also bike lockers.Not sure who makes them, but the company next door bought some & they look pretty cool.

Looks like Dero, the site listed above also makes the bike lockers. No price listed though..

Try to get them to understand the importance of having acceptable bike parking options--racks that will actually work for cyclists, and not just giving people a lousy wheel bender rack and calling it a job done.

I like the bike locker idea. If they were letting you bring it inside, a rack is a poor substitute. The lockers really aren't all that expensive

If you can't do lockers, then Saris Commercial Parking is always a good choice.

Thanks for the tips guys. Lockers sounded great to me but not so much to the boss. So a simple serpentine rack is getting installed. Luckily it will be behind a fence. Not an ideal situation bit better than nothing.

with an overhang, for rain, Community college had a Chain link fence material
based vertical storage scheme , each bike had a triangular footprint, which had a locking door closed with the user's lock.

using entirely common chain link fence materials.
