Any suggestions? I plan to commute to work and I only have one bike. Its a road bike so there arent any mounts for the fenders and tire clearance is pretty slim. Thanks for any help

They make fenders that just clip to the seat stays with glorified rubber bands and brackets. Search for Raceblades and you'll see what I mean. Others make similar.

You can get short fenders that will clip to the bike in one place. They won't be as effective as full fenders, but they will stop most of the crap. What make/model bike do you have?

SKS Raceblades have really nice stays and fenders, be careful to get the right size. I just ordered the stays seperatelyand converted a pair of full fenders to clip-ons so I could get more coverage. That worked out alright also.

Thanks guys. Its a felt f95. So far I like the look and idea of the race blades. Its not a long commute so not having full length fenders shouldn't be a big problem

Google SKS Race Blades Long. They're about 60.00USD per set, but provide much more coverage than the 'crud racer' Raceblades. I've got the crud racers on my fg commuter and they're virtually worthless when it comes to the 'roostertail' blowback from the front. Not to mention the road gunk that gets in your calipers, crankset, etc. The crud racers, while better than nothing aren't much better. The Longs weren't available when I got mine. Trust me you'll be way happier w/t Longs even though they're more pricey. The 2 reviews I read on a website gave them 4.5 stars out of 5. The website is www.wiggle.co.uk

Crud's RoadRacer 2 is what I would get for my road bike.

Just bear in mind the Cruds are not a temporary-use, spur-of-the-moment fender. Yes, they go on easily in just few minutes. They don't come off so easily.

If you leave the zip tie around the brake bolt loose enough that you can cut it for removal (the removable ones just don't remove IME) then the fender flops around and rests on the tire.

If you tighten the zip tie around the brake bolt so that the fender doesn't flop around or rest on the tire, then you need to remove the brake to remove the fender.

I like them a lot, but I put them on in November or December and take them off in March or April.

In the three-seasons, that bike gets Bontrager Satellite Fenders. I find them far superior to the Race Blades and their rubber band mounts. They are truly a spur-or-the-moment fender. You still need some space between the brake and the tire for the bracket the quick-release fender attaches to, but far less than you need for full fenders.
