Vu Vest - Safety vest with flashing LEDs

I ran across an ad in Runner's World magazine for a reflective safety vest, Vu Vest, with 8 flashing LEDs built into the vest.

Does anyone have any experience with this product? What do you think of it?

I've seen it or something similar - the one I saw I wasn't impressed with - its LED's even in the dark seemed pretty dim -- i didn't think it would be of much use grabbing anyone's attention.

I bought a couple of these for me and my kids to use when we are on our bikes and it is incredible how traffic slows down when they see us. They make me feel a lot safer riding at night knowing we can be seen. The price was extremely competetive too, http://www.spareabuck.com/ledsafetyvest.htm

Are you SPAM? I think you are spam, especially since you posted the same message verbatim in this thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=128562

I had a look at that site. Sure is a lot of reflective material on those vests. About the same as a good Highway workers vest at a higher price. When the batteries go dead I bet they still work.

I ride with one of these from ForestrySuppliers.com

Expensive but effective in all weather and people definitely take notice. Best compliment was when I rode past a highway crew and I heard one of the guys yell, in all earnestness, "hey, that's better than what we've got!"
