Front panniers...
 

I've been using TransIt rear panniers from Performance bike for a few years now. I really like their quality for what I paid for them.

Last summer I added a front rack to my Tourist and now I would like to add a pair of panniers. They will not be used full-time but put on occassionaly when I need the extra cargo space.

Can anyone recommend some? I do not need Ortlebs or the high-end stuff. But something that will last through occassional use.

How 'bout Nashbar panniers? You can usually get them cheap on perma-sale pricing.

I checked them out. I am considering them unless I come up with something better. I've bought/used Nashbar branded stuff and never had a problem that I can recall.

Axiom Seymores can be found for about $30 a pair.I have 2 pair I use for the last couple years for touring,I have no complaints.Ain't nothing fancy but they are well made.
