Thanks all. I appreciate the input.

I always have blinky lights going front and rear. I think my biggest issue is that I also drive these streets on a regular basis and I know what is going on in a drivers head. Particularly the second spot with the freeway . I have yet to see an accident or a laid out biker there in all my years driving there so I spose I just need to feel more confident and stay aware or just find another route. The main reason I take this route is that it takes me to the Bike Trail faster. Otherwise I have to ride 2 main intersections up on the road to get to the bike trail for only 2 other intersections.

Either way, thanks for the food for thought.

Personally, I consider myself as traffic, and the only thing I would consider is being courteous in giving motorists enough lead time in any of my lane maneuver intentions. As to what a motorist might think of me being in the middle of the lane, when no other safer options are available to me, tough ****.

Good point. I spose it is just going to take some time to break the habits from back in the day on the "big streets". "Stay on the sidewalk" "walk across all intersections". The stuff my parents told me will just take a little while to overcome and think of myself as traffic. I'll get there. Thanks.
