Descente Element Jacket?

Was at my LBS looking for a cycling jacket for local (Seattle - i.e. drizzly) biking and saw this.
It looked interesting (I want something bright with lots of vents that'll hold up in moderate rain). Has anyone biked through the rain with one of these? Does the lack of seam sealing cause problems?

The Element looks more comfortable than the Burley I was looking at before, and the hope would be that the Element would be sufficient. I probably won't be riding all day in the rain with it - it just needs to handle multi-hour rides, mostly through drizzle.

thanks.

Drizzle is fine, it just evaporates off the jacket if you're going fast enough, otherwise, I wouldn't worry. Sealed seams are only if you're going into heavy rains or moderate rain for a long time. Gore has some nice jackets with pitzips.

Performance has it for $99 on their web site. Not sure what it is in the store. I'm thinking of exchanging my Performance Commuter jacket that I got for Christmas for this one. I'll have to take a look at it first, though.

Yow! That's new (it wasn't that cheap last week). According to this site Descente's 2005 stuff is coming out in January, so maybe they need to clear out the 2004 stuff now.

I wonder if the 2005 line has anything worth waiting for...

Gill has some really nice jackets. I got this one for the holidays. It was $50 @ performance. It has 12" pit zips, a rear pocket, taped seams, and made of a fully water proof/breatable material.
I think its a really good dea lfor the $$$.
Gill's stuff looks really nice and affordable.

The Gill looks like good value for money. But I like that the Descente is screaming yellow all over the jacket, not just on the main body.

The main remaining issue with the Descente is the sleeve closures. I'm not sure how well the simple "rubber band" sleeve ends will seal over my gloves.

The gill has velcro cuff to close the sleeves. A good feature, IMO especially in cold weather/rain/snow. Also much better to seal over your gloves. Even with the jacket having the black trim, I think that you will be VERY visible..
