being by yourself is peaceful and you can go YOUR own pace. But having company can some times make long trips seem shorter.

While I am accustomed to riding in either roadie or touring clubs, nothing can ever quite take the place of riding solo!

Solo has now become my theme song, "Alone Again, Naturally"....

I normally ride solo. On occasion I ride with a friend, he likes to change up the pace. This is really apparent when we start riding in the hills. I'll truck it along at a pace that I know I can handle over and over again on each hill. Sometimes he will ride slow, others fast. Even if he takes off on me, I know I'll reel him back in shortly thereafter. That is what makes it fun. Random passing, sprinting and rest stops. He likes to take breaks more than I do, but it is nice to have a chat buddy.

When I am training, I ride solo so I can ride based on how I'm feeling (PEL). In large groups, sometimes it is nice to have the motivation to push harder than you normally would.

Cliff notes: Solo most of the time, occasionally a group ride or with a friend.

Solo all the way. When I want to train I train at my own pace at the time most convient to me. The only riding I do with others is taking my kids on the bike.

I don't ride fast enough to keep up in group rides, so what's the point of riding with a group?
I like to stop and smell the roses and see the sights. What group ride does that?

I really like riding with family and friends. The majority of the time, however, will be spent riding solo. That is only because of scheduling/timing issues. It is also great to meet people while cycling, and keep pace with them while conversing. It happens on a not so infrequent basis.

Solo. I'm a smell the flowers rider and I take many photographs when I ride for recreation. I ride solo for commuting as well.

All of the above really.
- Commuting: Solo always, that's my time.
- Road riding: I usually try to go with others. Road riding in a group is a blast and I enjoy the social aspect of it. But I'm fine with going solo if no one is available.
- Mountain biking: always with at least one other person for safety. The buddy system is good if you are in remote locations with few others around.

Was planning on a club ride this morning (with others) but rain scared me away.
The rain is to pass through in an hour or two - I plan to ride by myself.
Then later today, tentatively planning a tandem ride with wife/stoker.

I like to ride by myself quite a bit. Gives me a chance to think. I can stop whenever I want to. Ride at the pace I want to. Change routes and length of ride whenever it suits me, etc. I'm not antisocial and do like riding with someone else at times. I go on group rides organized by the LBS and am signed up for a couple of organized centuries, but for the most part I like the solitude of riding alone.

Alone. While instructing on a bike safety course, I enjoy biking in a group, because it facilitates skills development.

Unfortunately I don't really know any people that are into cycling, although I've tried to convince some co-workers to give it a try (unsuccessfully).

I commute alone, and most of my fun rides are done alone as my dh does not like hills and that is mostly what is out our door. Occasionally I will put the bikes on the car and go ride a bike trail and that is with dh. I used to ride with a group but to much trouble to put the bike on the car, when I can just walk outside my door and ride, also I am able to ride at my convienence
