choosing between Fuji Declaration 2012 and Schwinn Racer 2012 for commute

choosing between Fuji Declaration 2012 and Schwinn Racer 2012 for commute
Hey guys I have to decide between two bikes the 2012 Fuji
Declaration and 2012 Schwinn Racer. I'm trying to figure out which Bike will give me more bang for my buck. The Declaration is $499 and the Racer is $299. I will mostly be using it for my daily commute in NYC. My commute consists of mostly a 10 mile round trip run but I will have a 24 mile roundtrip run at twice a week. So any help in choosing would be great. Thanks guys.
