Newbaum's Bar Tape DIY installation
Here is the result of my DIY wrapping of Newbaum's bar tape. I followed the wonderful instructional video made my Rivendall Bikes and that's where I got the bar tape anyway.
I did applied some spray-on shellac but only 2-3 coats thus far. I understand it is kind of odd to use cloth tape on a modern-looking bike, but since I want something that would last longer and feel less padded than gel tape, cloth seems like a logical choice. Anyway, here are couple of pictures... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-k...0/D7K_1717.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l...0/D7K_1726.JPG |
I think it looks nice on a modern bike. I saw their video, too, and want to try it myself.

Ooooh. Nice looking tape job. How about a look at the red with the rest of the bike? It looks like it's going to accent the bike really well.

How does it look with the rest of the bike? The red was a rather bold "fashion" move and I hope it works :) |
:thumb: The red bar tape jazzes up the bike. I like it!
