Brake bridge mounted rack?

I've been oogling the Tubus Fly rack. I treated my old hybrid like a mule with a heavy metal rack, loaded milk crate and all. I recently upgraded to a CX bike to speed up my daily commute but it just feels criminal to strap on the old gear. I'm going for a real pannier bag this time and want a minimalist rack that I don't need to remove for CX fun.

I think this is as minial as it gets but I'm concerned as to how it connects to the brake bridge. Has anyone tried one of these?

I have the Vega, which is pretty close to the Fly, except it mounts to rack bosses. Racks have been attaching to brake bridges for a long time. I just sold a vintage Blackburn from the 80s that attached like so. I wouldn't worry. I mean, I wouldn't strap 60 pounds of stuff on a Fly,

You can't go wrong with Tubus. I just wish I'd bought the stainless version.

Wayne at The Touring Store has a nice writeup. I hear he's excellent to deal with, also. http://www.thetouringstore.com/TUBUS/Fly/FLY%20PAGE.htm
