Bike Forums - It's the shortie again :)

So, I finally made it over to the Trek store in my town. I took a look at the Trek Kids FX

I didn't get to test it out because it looked like it was about to pour rain, but just sitting on it and trying out the pedals a bit, I can tell it's night and day compared to my current bike. At my store, it's $418 brand new. I could lift it up with one hand and not even bat an eye. I might go give it a test run tomorrow. I also want to look at the other LBS which is smaller but carries more variety.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Experience with outfitting it or another kids bike with paniers/lights, etc? I hope it won't be adding too much weight. The employee there said he could do that for me, but the stuff they had in the store wasn't all that amazing.
