Civia flat fenders?
Does anyone have any comments on the effectiveness of the Civia flat aluminum fenders in terms of protection?
I wanted to replace the Planet Bike fenders on my utility bike with the flat Civias, but have some misgivings about how well they work. I like the style, but I expect my fenders to completely protect me from spray, and I'm wondering if the absence of a lip to contain the water and mud allows for some to creep around and fly out. Also, has anyone installed a flap extension on the front wheel Civia flat fender, or have any ideas on what might make an acceptable flap? Just FYI, I have ordered the 700x35 fenderss to run over my 700x28 tires. Thanks in advance! |
ive heard they work just fin and keep you as dry as any other fender, and the plus is they are very easy to keep the inside clean being that you can wipe done the inside easily

Water tends to be slung out from the highest point on the center of the tire.

I wanted a little change of pace, what with my current fenders being bright yellow, and I think the anodized grey of the Civia's will look good...but if they don't work to keep me clean, I don't want 'em. One concern: am I slacker because I don't clean the inside of my fenders?!?! |
