Mirror that works well with drop bars and bar-end shifters?

I'd like to find a rear-view mirror that works well with drop bars and bar-end shifters without interfering with the various hand positions I like to use while riding. I've seen exactly what I'm looking for before but I can't for the life of me remember how they were mounted to the bars. Anyone here have any suggestions of what mirror to get and how to mount it with this setup?

BTW, a helmet or glasses mounted mirror is absolutely out of the question.

Interesting. I'd need to see one though. Seems like the field of view would be pretty narrow.

There are mirror brackets that go in the brake hoods , some wrap around
some under the rubber cover.

I use a Myrrycle mirror on a light bracket. I like the position so much that I still use the same setup even though my bike doesn't have barend shifters anymore. Unlike the picture, the bracket is under the bar tape.

I've got a Zefal Spy mirror that works reasonably well. It has a rubber strap that can be used to attach the mirror to any tube on the bike.

an echo for the zefal spy mirror; mounts easily, fairly adjustable and quite effective.
