I met some guys just like you mountain biking. They had used up all their CO2 cartridges and had to borrow my pump twice.

The Road Morph is small enough to pack in with you if you feel it will be stolen.

btw, as for where to stash it when you have no bags, if it's not a real long ride, stick it in a bottle and stash in one of your bottle cages maybe?

If I was concerned about someone stealing my pump I would take it off and put it in my jersey pocket. If your worried about your pump then you should be even more worried about your computer and multi-tool.

'What if' they steal your bike and leave the pump?!
Seriously . . . never have had a pump stolen in over 300,000 miles of bicycling.

Those who say pump pump it is . I really dont want to ever have to worry about if i have enough air plus its what i really want. Guess ill just take it with me or hope for the best. I do feel in the long run pumps have a greater advantage than CO2. no after purch cost and no air supply to keep track of :) Roade Morph G will have a new home on my cycle come pay day :D

I agree. People use recycling as an excuse to adopt the "use once and toss" lifestyle. Give me a good pump that will fill thousands of tubes before it finally needs to be recycled.

I guess it depends on where you live. In my neck of the woods, everything must be taken off. :(

Last point that I'll make on this, but from reading the comments about c02 cartirdges, you'd think that everyone who uses them gets stranded by the side of the road every time they get a flat tire. I have never had my CO2 cartirdges fail me on a ride where I was unable to patch my tire. That being said, I have had two pumps break on me in the past & from reading the normal 'Which pump should I buy' threads, I'm not the only one who has had the experience. At least if your CO2 cartridge fails, you have one backup (assuming you bring two). If your pump breaks, you are walking.

I keep an extra co2 cartridge at work just in case I ever have to use one on the way in, so that I still have two on the way home.

Pumps have some advantages, but so do CO2 cartridges. Neither one is THE right choice, it all depends on what best fits your needs.
