Recommendation on 2009 Jamis Commuter 2
 

Hey all,

Just looking for a recommendation on a purchase. Local bike store has "new-old-stock" of Jamis Commuter 2 bikes. These are completely new, though 3 years old. He's asking $380.

Bike has been built up a little different: different (and I think better bars); huge seat was ditched; seems to have decent/good touring tires.

This will be a commuter 90% of the time, though I would like it to have some versatility for longer "sport" rides and possibly some light touring (no front panniers).

cannot speak to a commuter 2, however i do have seller's remorse for a commuter 3 i sold a couple months ago. it was my winter commuter with nexus hub gear and studded tires. liked the bike.

The Jamis Commuters are a good line of decently priced and reasonably equipped bikes.

For just $114.00 more, you can get the Commuter 4.0... Shimano Alfine 8-Speed IGH ( with front derailleur) and Disc Brakes.
