I am a bad boy today

Usually I follow all traffic laws even though people run red lights and stuff all the time.

However, today I didn't see a crosswalk near the pedestrian zone (crane parked in the street was blocking it) and rode through it, albeit slowly.

And, what do you know, someone shouted "Zebrastreifen" ... meaning zebra stripes (or crosswalk).

:(

I tried to shout "Entschuldingung" back but it's too long of a word based on how fast I was moving :(

What is an appropriate punishment?

You should be permanently banished and exiled to a nudist colony!

Much to your chagrin, they're all beautiful women over six feet tall and are located on some island in the Thermodon river, near the southern coast of Turkey. They are all hunter-warriors, have one single breast, in front, just opposite the quiver side, on their backs. Furthermore, these women are known to kill their male lovers, immediately after mating. However, their island rarely tolerates men with masculine traits.

Have A Nice Day!

i was actually shocked that someone said anything, as it was nearly the middle of the construction zone.

i actually feel quite bad as i usually pay significant attention to pedestrians :(

treebound 06-25-12 12:55 PM

So, what is the issue? Are you required to stop at all crosswalks, or only when pedestrians are present?

Here in Wisconsin a motorist is "supposed" to yield for pedestrians in crosswalks, whether they do or not is a subject of discussion in a different section of the site. But if there is no stop sign, and no traffic light, and no pedestrians, then you don't even have to slow down.

Now, if you really seek punishment for your apparent transgression then go back to that crosswalk, lock your bike to the crane, then cross the street via said crosswalk six times while singing a made-up song about Zebras, bicycles, and people in crosswalks. Then post a video on youtube or vimeo about the episode. Does that help any??? ;)

Why "actually"? Shiner Bock is a good beer. Now, if you said you liked Natty Ice or something...:)

because it's mass-marketed and i find most mass-marketed american beers quite bad. there are some exceptions though (some Sam Adams / Brooklyn Lagers). i say this because I grew up near Shipyard/Red Hook and the quality went down when the volume went up.

by german standards Shiner Bock is quite a good bock and is mass-marketed, that's the long-winder answer to why I actually said actually.

the drinking culture (beer/wine/schnapps) is fascinating.

the beer is top-notch, the wine is top-notch. but the schnapps blows all of it away. in addition, the amount of people who ferment/distill at home is fascinating. i just got back from Romania, and the Hungarian family I met distilled 1000L (yes, one thousand liters) of schnapps for personal consumption/gifts for guests.

i will love Pálinka until the day I die
