Yeah, they are just hardy beasts. I love seeing junk on the road that I just roll over on my mtb that I would have to avoid on a road bike.

My suspension fork was polluting my MTB commuter for years, and is now polluting a landfill somewhere. Unfortunately, I no longer have a "vintage" MTB conversion, as I first replaced all the components, and then replaced the frame and fork with a 2011 Surly Troll frameset.

Cool, I think a new rigid fat tire frameset would fit nicely into this thread. Vintage MTBs can be cheap but Surlys are cool. I have a 1x1 frame that I need to build up one of these days.
