also, any tips about making the color disappear ASAP as I need to be in a wedding in Salzburg on Saturday, then holiday for 10 days in Hungary, and I'd prefer not to have the discoloration in all of the photos

Looks like you got a bar-end in the face when you crashed. Or a mirror.

You forgot your keys again and when you borrowed the bolt cutter from the janitor and snipped your cable lock, it sprung back in your face. :-)

As for eye color, if it doesn't disappear, I'd just use comparable eye shadow on the other eye and make it match and perhaps start a new trend...

You don't need to reduce the bruising; just put matching eye shadow on the other eyelid, and say you're going to be emo for a while. Or claim some new fashion trend you're at the cutting edge of, and when anyone tries to tell you to wash it off, just go batty at them and they'll leave you alone.

Or the other route, and ask someone knowledgeable in makeup to try to conceal it a bit for the wedding.

It's already too late to ice to help much (except for swelling), and bruising takes its own daggum time to go away (I hate that)

edit: I should have read on. It seemed too unlikely someone else hadn't beat me to the eye shadow comment!

I'm guessing a truck mirror as you're riding by. Or maybe some kind of branch/bush out-cropping as that happened to me. Yes, I can be a dumba**.

How about...

"In addition, a shorter person/child could have an eye poked out by a peddle because a needless off-the-ground locking style."

You didn't trip and fall did you? I've done that a lot. Of course I've also been jettisoned into bushes, tripped over tall barriers and slid on my face. My guess though is that if you didn't fall, you got hit by something nice and round that could get you square in the eye socket.

Arnica gel is great for bruising; also ultrasound, chiropractors and physical the******s have ultrasound wands they use to erase bruises.

You were rubbing a bug out of your eye and crashed and as a result punched yourself if the eye!
