Levi's commuter clothing?

What do you guys think about the Levi's Commuter Collection?

The price is kind of high IMO. but they do look like (Especially the Hooded trucker jacket!).

Are they worth getting for that price? or can I find something better to wear when its raining, cold weather, etc?

depends on how far your commute is. For me, I dislike riding in anything that does not have padding in the riding pants which is why I opt for lycra.

I'll say this:

Last year, the only styles they had were skinny commuter jeans. For all those people who ride bikes every day, but still have toothpick legs.

Its refreshing that they've added straight fit jeans. Now if they could only figure out that having the top of the pants sit below the waist is asinine for clothes that you're active in...

I like that they are making them. I've seen a bunch of the pieces in the line at the LBS. I'm not really in their demo though. Fashion bike clothes don't really appeal to me. They don't do either very well.

Bottom line I'm too old for the styles, and I own way too much proper bike gear. In short, I'd be wasting my money and looking like a fool.

I didn't like any of the styles - guess I'm just old now. In my experience, Levi's quality has really dropped lately. A pair of Levis just doesn't last as long as a pair of Wrangler or Lee - I like my jeans to last a really long time. They just get more comfortable with age. Hmm - looks like I really should consider a Brooks saddle :)

Those prices are ridiculous.

Or just wear padded cycling shorts under your clothes and avoid the issue of lycra.

When they start showing up in bargain bins for reasonable prices, maybe... and I hate the 511 cuts. Wearing some 505's right now.

Agreed. I may be one of those "Young Cyclists" they're trying to appeal to, but even I know those prices are ridiculously high. They don't look at all special either, I'll just stick to my everyday clothes.

I got the 511s on sale for $30 from their website about a month ago. Today was the first chilly morning and I really liked them. Tighter than my usual jean fit.
