Commuting in Khobar, traffic is different!

I'm curious why there are no lane markings. I've seen videos of traffic in India and it's the same way. Seems like there would be lots of fender-benders with cars drifting left or right.

I've never seen anyone mixing it up in traffic like that on a trike. Pretty gutsy, I think, as it looks rather risky; being so low and out of sight, particularly when overtaking, presents some real hazards.
