For me, too much wind is when it is combined with rain in the right amount. I have some stretches underneath Douglas Fir trees which drop a lot of branches when we have a windy day - not usually big ones, but enough to be a pain. That, and I figure when you have rain mixed with high winds the drivers are too distracted to want to really pay attention to me. The first two days this week here were that, AND too warm - lows in the upper 50's. Never thought I would think it too warm in the morning to ride, but on days like Monday and Tuesday it would take me a couple of hours to cool down and stop sweating, particularly with the long sleeve flannel shirts and dungarees we have as uniforms at work.
