What's In Your Water Bottle?

What kind of drink is in your water bottle? For me it's always been just water.

Papa Tom 10-17-12 07:27 PM

Always just water when I commute. For my big trips (daylong/overnight excursions) I will sometimes bring along some Gatorade, but just because I feel like I'm sneaking a treat!

Always water when commuting. When on longer rides I usually pass the mall which has a vending machine with Gatorade and I will fill my, by then, empty second water bottle.

gecho 10-17-12 07:36 PM

Water.

But I keep several 60ml Nalgene bottles with pre-measured Gatorade crystals in my trunk bag. If I want to go for a longer ride on the way home I just dump one in and give the bottle a good shake. A sign of a good ride are white salt lines running across my jersey and gritty feeling temples. Gotta replace those electrolytes.

idc 10-17-12 08:09 PM

For commuting, water.

Mr. Hairy Legs 10-17-12 08:22 PM

Good old-fashioned water.

KonAaron Snake 10-17-12 08:35 PM

I use water...if I'm going a long way sometimes I'll toss in a little salt...errrrr..."electrolytes" into the second bottle with a little lemon juice and sugar.

cdonges 10-17-12 08:45 PM

water

erig007 10-17-12 08:54 PM

water for less than 2h trip. More than 2h trip I do my own gatorade : filtered water, salt, honey, vitamins B1..B12, lemon juice

fietsbob 10-17-12 09:08 PM

these last few days there is water on both sides of the bottle.

tds101 10-17-12 09:39 PM

I tend to put a little Mio in the water,...just to add some taste. But, that's about it. I've yet to do a 2+ hour ride,...

Shellyrides 10-17-12 10:04 PM

water in big bottle, smaller one gets power aid.

woodway 10-17-12 10:36 PM

Water for length of ride.

itsdonny 10-17-12 11:08 PM

I'm surprised that so many people use them for water. Actually I thought for sure someone would say they put coffee or something in theirs.

scaryseth 10-17-12 11:20 PM

Green Tea bag and cold water. If in the afternoon or night, plain ol water. Always in a Polar Bottle. But guess that is another thread, what do you put your water in. ;)

Well.... the white one in my avatar had 3 tire levers, some glueless patches, and a Park MT-1 multi-tool at the time.

kjmillig 10-18-12 12:26 AM

Dihydrogen monoxide in one. The other usually just has water. :p

RickB. 10-18-12 12:27 AM

mold.

krobinson103 10-18-12 01:20 AM

Water. If I plan on riding 100 miles plus I buy a small bottle of powerade ad I tend to cramp up at 80 miles without more electrolytes.

subwoofer 10-18-12 02:07 AM

Water.

I'm concerned about sipping sugary drinks over long periods, and the effect it would have on my teeth, so water only.

On the odd occasion I have something else in another bottle with me, then it gets washed down with water afterwards.

frantik 10-18-12 02:40 AM

water on commuting. Longer rides may be a little different.

sundaecommuter 10-18-12 02:58 AM

I prefer Dihydrogen monoxide mixed with Oxygen hydroxine.
