Due to the time it takes to open it this system has been tested for an impact of the head on the ground but what about hitting a tree, a lorry or a pole which leads to impacts way sooner than impacts on the ground. If your bicycle hit a tree, a lorry or a pole your head will be in contact with it way before that the system is deployed. It's a deadly flaw.

yeah, if you live in the middle of the forest.

news flash ... a 600USD isn't in your market

Two problems I see with this helmet
1. It looks like it deploys pretty easly I have crashed numerous times without my head touching the road or anything else
that would be $600.00 not used for minor falls each time :notamused:

2. after the initial impact how much would it protect you from road rash as your sliding along the asphalt ?

neat Idea but only protects a head in very specific circumstances

The only market for this is fashion-before-safety, OMG is my hair OK people. Having been T-boned by a car I can assure you that the 1.5 seconds it takes for this to inflate would be cutting it really close before your head hits the windshield of the car. Any $45 hat will provide 24/7 protection without the use of tech that can fail. Plus the hat is much cooler than a big neck wrap.

But if you have hundreds to spend on a look at me toy, to each their own. Since it doesn't actually attach to your head I wonder if it would meet US bike laws where head protection is mandatory.
