Nice ride in this morning, humid and cloudy. There was no radiational cooling last night due to cloud cover. Just the thunder showers helped cool things down a little. I had a flat tire half way in yesterday. It's strange how I never used to carry a spare tube or pump and never flatted. This year I got a nice tiny Topeak pump and a spare tube and have used it twice so far. More thunder showers this afternoon, may have to wait for a good break on the radar before setting out. Afraid of lighting.

Warm with hard rain and T-storms. Which made for a really great ride in. The hardest part is getting out of the driveway when you are starting out dry and the rain is coming down really hard. Once you are wet, it is kinda fun.
One of the tips I learned here on the site has proven helpful for warm rain days like today. I use sandals (mine are Teva's), which work fine for pedaling, and once I am at work... no wet shoes or socks to deal with.
Also, I pack an extra set of commute clothes and a wet-diaper zip bag in the pannier. I put the morning's wet clothes in the diaper bag and have the dry ones for the commute home.

Am just living vicariously through y'all... health has kept me from getting out as much as I would like to.
Hoping groovestew cleans that filthy bike of his before I give it a check up... but know that he is busy taking care of the new baby so he has an excuse.

Rain, but warm - and the first time this week some girl did the "pass you then cut you off turning right" trick - not sure if there is a technical term for that maneuver.

Almost ran over an early morning jogger....other than that, I love coming in extra early. And I saw one of my team rolling into the garage ahead of me...and two more teammates were already locked up on the rack.

it was a nice ride in this am there was a light mist and heavy clouds and the temp was 58f.
The ride home last night started out fine then the light rain came, then the heavy rain came and then the lightning and on thunder clap by that time I was only a 1/2 mile away from home. I hope no rain for tonight but if so I am more prepared than last night. I have a baseball cap to keep the water off the glasses and my shoe covers so my shoes are not sopping wet when I get home.

Yesterday afternoon I rode 14 miles on the way home even though it was hot. My wife and her friends were down at the lake drinking wine so I went to visit with them. On the way home I stopped in at the bike store to buy a phone holder for my bike and a mirror that fits onto my sunglasses. I had my fastest ride ever as well yesterday avereging over 17 miles per hour.

This morning my legs were tired from riding all week and not going to bed until late and getting back up at 5:30 to ride again. Anyway the ride was nice but my legs are tired. I'm not sure of this third eye mirror yet either.

Wet, humid, and foggy. I made it home last night and in this morning without getting rained on. I've determined it's because I'm carrying a rain jacket - as long as I have it in the bag it won't rain while I'm out... and I probably jinxed myself

Tomorrow morning we're heading out on a four days camping trip, thanks to Canada day on monday. See you all on tuesday!

Getting tired of arriving at work extra sweaty due to high humidity so I'm taking the car today and tomorrow, I have to work late and don't feel comfortable riding these busy roads in the dark yet so it works out...

Sunny, 14C, tail breeze, beautiful. Took a detour, and ended up passing the same lady twice who went the regular way.

A little over 80° this morning which is almost my ideal preference. Except that I like to hammer the last half mile to beat traffic to the light, and I'm drenched after tying up at the bike rack. Fortunately the company is pretty laid back about employees walking in dripping with sweat and I got over the self-consciousness long ago. Days like this it's all good!

Had a nice cool ride in today at 57degF and cloudy. The rain held up all day and I had a nice cool ride back home later this afternoon. After that heat spell on Monday and Tuesday it sure felt good.

I'm getting faster every day as I'm learning how to time the lights better. I shaved another minute off the time it took me despite getting stuck behind a telescoping forklift (like the one below) that was only doing 15mph. When I came up beside him at a light in the bike lane, I gave gave him a goofy smile and said, "Nothing personal, but I'm gonna pass you! You're too slow!" He laughed. Good thing he had a good sense of humor about it. The ten cars he had behind him probably were a bit jealous of me, though...

Humid & sticky. I took it easy, strolling just fast enough to feel a nice breeze.
It's supposed to rain around the time I get off. I'm hoping not.

Almost hit a bird. (Mourning dove?) Flew up right in front of me out of some bushes--so I put my head down so if I hit him, he would hit the top of my helmet.
20 mins later I blew a tire. Tire, not just inner tube. On the tread, not sidewall. The tire is worn through (Continental Grand Prix) in a few spots but I thought it would survive longer. It blew when I went through a rough patch (construction zone).
