I rode in this afternoon, even though it's Sunday, because I had to travel tonight for business. 71°F, and the first time I've worn shorts in 5 months. After a winter on studded tires, it was like cheating. Awesome!

Back in NYC. Living Upper West Side and working in Brooklyn. Loving my folding bike commute over the Manhattan Bridge (sometimes the Brooklyn Bridge). 20 mile round trip. Starting to get my NY rhythm back.
It's an adjustment from the Boston commute. Each city has its own pace and style.
The 6 day work weeks means commuting by bike every day and since the bike is also how I get every where else the 20/day is the base and then extra for errands and visiting friends. So I'm into a 150 mile week just getting around town. Since I have no time for training/recreational rides this will give a modest start to some fitness for the summer- I hope.

It was a simple and uneventfull. The legs sure did feel the long hilly rides from this weekend. This week may be the first 100 mile week of the season. Looking to get back to th 500+ mile months of last year.
55 degrees, and dawn sprung as I was locking my door.

WOW... 57F/14C, a warm headwind, lot's of birds and cherry blossoms out. Winter foortwear is gone, shorts are on, no hat or gloves.
Somewhatr related...I am following a hyaterical back and forth on my neighborhood listserv about the "out of control" cyclists.. As often seems to be the case...moderation and informed discussion gives way to extremes: Car drivers are all homicidal maniacs....cyclists are all out of control hipsters or Tour de France wannabes with no regard for traffic laws.

41F/5C with a headwind. Nature is indeed coming back to life. Plants starting to poke up from the ground, and even some crocuses, already blooming. I said hello to a domestic cat, who regarded me with typical feline indifference.

Started off with a few sprinkles then dry with wet roads and the last mile was steady rain. Not bad it is about 43 degrees here this morning.

First ride of the season. I started off in the rain and within about a mile the roads were dry. Beautiful ride except for one newly installed chuckhole that I hit so hard I almost crashed. But I didnt, a very nice ride otherwise.

Nice and easy this morning! Sun, low low pollution, and little traffic. 21km in 40 minutes.
26kph winds in the evening with gusts to 43kph made for a somewhat slower ride home...

A little bit warmer today, but not quite warm enough to abandon the heavy winter gloves. (Idiot me abandoned the heavy winter gloves.)

First commute of 2013, it was about 53 degrees. It took me a while to get all my stuff together but I still made good time once I started rolling. I've got to re teach people that they need to share the road and look for bikers on my route again. One of the biggest problems with not commuting year round. It felt so good to be riding instead of driving. I have a meeting tonight so I will have to hustle home. I hope to ride again tomorrow.

I had a decent morning commute, I missed the rain. It was 40F, not a whole lot warmer this afternoon. They are talking about it dropping into the 30's F by midweek and snow....man....this is getting old.

Great commute home this morning from work. At 7am this morning it was 60 degrees with a lite breeze, couldn't ask for better. I didn't have to fight with the dogs either, I think I snuck by them this time lol. Starting to feel alot better since I've started riding!

Beautiful morning, got out extra early to snap pics of the cherry blossoms. Amazing number of bike commuters went rolling by.
