Awesome Commute!!
I just got done with a 16.4 mile commute. It was my longest commute to date and I feel amazing!! I had periods of struggling up hills and then I had periods of cruising down hill pretty fast. I would love to post Endomondo stats but I made the dumb move of forgetting to unpause it after my very first break and I never realized it until my third or fourth break. One of the most amazing things about the trip was that it was done on an old Huffy that I picked up for $20.
....now I feel like I need a nap lol. |
Awesome job! I am glad you loved it!
The feeling of being tired will go away at some point. I remember getting to work the first time I commuter and all I wanted to to was lay down and take a nap. |

Lol well after I got what I needed from her she replied with "turn around and go, bye" so I don't think she had any interest in following :P

Ha Ha no she broke up with me a few days before. I already had that route planned since before the breakup and I already had to get a tshirt from her so it was a pretty good idea to go.

It was a joke... apparently not a good one. Keep riding!
I guess I didn't get the joke. I wasn't trying to nit-pick. I'm not sitting here correcting everyone's "there", "their" and "they're", cause there are plenty of those to point out(or the way that people spell their own usernames). I was simply trying to help someone's (potential) fundamental misunderstanding of a concept. Maybe you guys think a topic about a single trip qualifies as a "commute", but that's not the way I understand things. I don't go and post on the road forum because I do, in fact, travel on the road. Sorry if I missed the joke. |

Sorry if I missed the joke. He already had it planned, rode 16 miles for a t-shirt, so let's cut him some slack. :) |
Germans eliminated that problem by calling what's known in English as a "road bike" as a Rennrad (Race bike). Sometimes, lack of precision drives me nuts.

That's less precise, not more, since race bikes are a subset of road bikes :p

Actually, my favorite distinction is between "trekking" and "expedition" bikes.

Sorry about leaving you guys hanging. I checked it two days ago I believe and it seemed the thread died and then tonight it was filled with replies. I am afraid I didn't get the joke at the time lol. As for the time estimate, it took me about 60-65 minutes each way but there were a few steep hills, horrible road conditions and half way on the return trip I was dead on my feet lol. As far as traffic goes, it was a perfect route almost but as far as other things go, I wish I had another route available. The only thing I resent from that trip was the darn dogs. I had two huge dogs bark and chase me. Scared the heck outta me.
