Co-workers bike stolen at work. (video)

My co-worker rides his bike to work occasionally, and leaves it parked there when he drives. Well earlier this week it got stolen. Security camera shows it getting taken. Thought I'd share the video and remind everyone to make sure to actually lock your bikes up.

We are working on getting better bike parking. I currently park my bike in my cubicle. I think this was only attached with a small cable lock, if that..

That really bites hard but unfortunately the incident will be quickly forgotten. I always parked my bike in a courtyard of sorts at the building where I work... plenty of foot traffic from people I work with who would take note of an 'outsider' should they approach a coworker's bike. Then the building's management installed bike racks in the adjacent (open) parking garage, However there wasn't even a security camera pointed towards the rack and no garage attendants employed to police the garage. During the first week after the rack installation a fellow cyclist and coworker who decided to use the bike rack had his bike vandalized, whereas I still locked my bike up in the courtyard without incident. I was 'encouraged' many times after the rack installation to make use of the wonderful new convenience installed for us cyclists but I kindly refused the offer and stated my reasons why which were security issues. Eventually the 'encouragement' to utilize the rack was 'stepped up a notch' so I began commuting on my folding bike exclusively which I park it under my desk. It's amazing how many of the 'higher ups' seemed a little miffed about that. BTW, the 'higher ups' have the convenience of a completely enclosed and secure parking garage below the office building.
