Need some panniers? Detours discount alert

I hope this isn't a forum no-no ...

If you've been considering a pannier purchase, this might be a good weekend to buy.

Detours is offering 25% off its Fremonster panniers (normally $72) through the 21st.

https://detours.us/store/panniers/fre...-flap-pannier/

I don't have these bags, but I have some older Detours panniers and I love them. I'm pretty tempted to pick these up in herringbone, but the bags I have are perfectly serviceable so even with a sweet discount it would be kinda silly. I guess.

If you want 'em, use the code "trollavenue" at checkout for the discount.

The top mounts look ok,but what type of mount is on the bottom? Or does it even have one(can't see anything in the pics)?

Willing to let this one slide as a PSA.

I do have a question- what's the capacity? Per the site, it's 650 cubic inches, but the dimensions are 16"x6"x15" which equals 1440.

Dynarider: The panniers I have right now (Detours Toocans) only have top mounts. These newer bags' mounts look better than mine, and I haven't had any problems with mine jumping or flapping around unless I hit a serious bump.

no1mad: Thanks for cutting the newbie a break. You can always delete after the weekend. As for the capacity, I haven't the faintest. Only thing I can figure is that since they taper at the top that reduces things? I've generally gotten pretty quick answers from the Detours folks when I've emailed 'em with questions about their products, so it might be worth doing if you're curious.

Still trying to resist the urge to buy.

We actually have a member of the community that is a sales rep for Detours. I'm kinda surprised he hasn't poked his head into this thread yet.

From @DetoursUS on twitter:

@thrynkat Hmm, interesting! I suspect it has to do with the Fremonster having a more tapered design, but does seem like # should be higher.

... And then they offered to get back to me Monday in more detail.
