Dashing through the snow (in the Netherlands)

I love the video in this blog post!

It's shot in the city called ’s-Hertogenbosch, which is a city whose spelling is intriguing to me, since it begins with an apostrophe. And the cyclists there are definitely pretty tough.

Wow, that is so cool. Looks like a great place to be. Notice, no special gear, no helmets and separate bikeways. Sooo! Nice. Thanks for posting that Tom, I love it too.

I see where I am moving, next :)

Tough? It looks like they've got it pretty easy, and apparently it's not even cold enough that they need to wear a hat!

Jealous :) 2,5cm freezing rain here today :( airport shut down :( probably will take the subway in the morning and monitor bike lane conditions

Boring explanation, that apostrophe s replaces the possessive pronoun 'des', meaning 'of the'. 'des-Hertogenbosch means 'Wood of the dukes', written old-fashionedly, in a possessive case no longer used in Dutch.

Utopia. :)

the idea of a separate bikeway (or a bike lane) is foreign to me. especially when the cops tell me to "get out of the road, idiot"..... *sigh*
