For me, it depends on the time of the year. In winter, the rare 50* day feels awfully nice. In summer, 70* is awesome.
I've ridden in everything from -15* to 100*, but my favorite temps are the ones when I don't need to get bundled up nor barely wear anything and still sweat to death. The less I need to think about how to dress for a ride the better. |
Low seventies. I came from a tropical region
In reality, though, I prefer low sixties or high fifties, so that I can wear jeans and my jacket without sweating. They give abrasion protections. |
I would have to say between 50-60F, as long as it isn't raining too bad.
|
For me it depends on why I am riding, if i am commuting low sixties are ideal (as not to get too sweaty for work), for a weekend workout I prefer 85-95°

In the summer, I like it hot and sunny and, as long as I have plenty of water, humidity isn't an issue. However, take into account that here in Northeastern Ontario (Canada), a hot day is 25-30C (77-86F). At the other end of the scale, these last couple of days have been cold, -25 to -32C (-13 to -22F) not accounting for wind chill which as been as low as -36C (-32F) so I haven't been riding primarily because I'm finding that my knobby tires are not really up to the challenge of winter and at these temperatures hard-pack snow is virtually icy and impossible for the knobbies to get any bite into. Next year, I'll have to invest in some studded tires: for now, I'll just have to pick and choose my winter biking days.
My least favourite conditions are cold, rainy days such as 5C (41F) and rainy: I don't have rainproof pants (although a rainproof shell), nor rainproof gloves or shoes so it is difficult for me to get warm in conditions like these. Anything else, I'm fine. |

Commuting - 60's Long weekend roadie-runs - hot,hot,hot. the hotter the better. 90's + |
anywhere from the upper 40s (Fahrenheit) to the upper 60s are comfy to me, with the proper layers. Below the upper 40s, my nose runs nonstop in a really gross way, and in 70s and up, I start sweating (wet) when I put in high effort. It just seems easier to go harder longer when it is colder.

After -11 this morning anything in the plus category sounds good to me.
Seriously though I like any weather where I can ride comfortably in shorts and a t-shirt. I don't mind sweating as long as it doesn't get into my eyes (ouch). |
any temp, no humidity, well maybe any temp over 35.
|
70-75 degrees. It's very comfortable without a jacket. Low humidity on top of that is a huge bonus. I don't mind a little sweat and having it evaporate as I ride. Those temps will not show up regularly until July here in the Puget Sound area.
